'Law school didn't teach her everything'

Louise Elizabeth writes with authority

Set against the background of a busy suburban practice, Meredith Hindmarsh, a thirty-something lawyer is not amused. Her husband, David Gruntley, is having an affair and they are headed for the Divorce Court.

Meredith’s instincts desert her when financier, Jonathon Blackhook, pressures her to act for his son, Danny, who has been charged with fraud and conspiracy.

She finds out more about her husband and the underworld of law than she wants to as she tries to prove Danny innocent of the charges and resist whoever wants her stopped.

THIRD WEDNESDAY POETS

Louise Elizabeth writes her poetry as l.e.berry

Every third Wednesday we meet. Every third Wednesday we attempt to hone our craft. Stretching beyond rhyme, metre and description to tanka, cento, haiku, and abecedarium while we sip frothy cappuccinos, or perhaps indulge in cake, we go on a journey.

When the blending of our words seems like rubbish, we laugh. When they fall flat, we groan and move on. Every now and then, someone will read a poem and we all sit still, poised in silent surrender to the soaring of our spirits and we are grateful for the places that poetry takes us.
